The organization behind NOA

The NOA pavilion and the programming are an initiative of Powerboat. Powerboat was founded in 2001 by theatre-maker and actress Fokka Deelen and designer Bas Kortmann and they form the board. Meanwhile, Powerboat has grown from a theatre group, initiator and artistic producer to expert and consultant in the field of interactive processes and community building. All activities and expertise originate from the same source: stimulating and inspiring interaction.

Fokka Deelen is the director of Powerboat, theatre-maker and actress. She wants to create opportunities for dialogue.

Bas Kortmann is beside the director of Powerboat also a designer and owner of Studio Kortmann, a spatial design studio. Bas designed the NOA pavilion.

In cooperation with writer and journalist Dore van Duivenbode and actor Mathieu Wijdeven Powerboat makes the theatre performance 'The fairy tale of Prins Alexander'.

Dore van Duivenbode is a writer and journalist. She made the documentary series 'Moja Polska', which was broadcast by the VPRO in 2019. In that year she also received the Bob den Uyl Prize for her book 'My Polish House, Vacations to Auschwitz'. She made the audio tour for 'Sprookje van Prins Alexander'.

Mathieu Wijdeven graduated from the Performance department of the Maastricht Theatre School. He makes performances and objects that investigate the relationship between man and construction, and he has his own performance collective 'Firma Draak'.

Practical information

Opening Hours and Access

The pavilion is open all day, free of charge. You are welcome to come and see the pavilion up close. Walk around the pavilion during the day and linger in the evening to see the beautiful lighting sparkle.

Location

Currently the pavilion is located at Prins Alexanderplein in the Oosterflank district of Rotterdam. The square is part of the Alexander intersection and offers opportunities for visitors to meet and recreate.

Accessibility

The pavilion is easy to reach by public transport. NOA is within walking distance of the Rotterdam-Alexander station. This is where trains, buses and the metro stop. So you can get to NOA from the centre of Rotterdam in just 30 minutes! There is also the possibility to park near Woonmall Alexandrium. These car parks are paid parking.

Corona-measurements

A visit to the NOA pavilion can be corona-proof. Visitors are allowed to walk past the pavilion, but must keep the 1.5-metre distance.

Do you have (light) complaints that fit with the virus? Then we ask you to stay at home and not to come to NOA.
