Workshops

In 2020, an extensive program of activities was offered to residents of Oosterflank, theater and architecture enthusiasts from Rotterdam and beyond, and people interested in the city's water challenges. Between September 23 and October 23, various workshops and lectures were given about the polder and the water. Powerboat has played the theater performance 'The Fairytale of Prince Alexander' no less than 30 times in the pavilion. You can read more about the workshops on this page.

Did you miss it and would you still like to do one of the workshops? Please contact us via info@powerboat-rotterdam.nl

Workshops by Bas Sala

Art of disconnection

For children up to and including 12 years.

Make your fantasy figure out of downspouts and help to properly drain the rainwater in the garden. Together with the children we will make fantasy figures from drainpipes and install them at the pavilion. We start with a drawing or model and then we turn this into a drainpipe painting on the wall of the pavilion.

Water workshop

For adults.

Studio Bas Sala has designed three beautiful objects that let the rainwater run into your garden. In the workshop we will make the three designs together. We will place these at the pavilion or you can take them home.

Water wheel

For children and adults.

The ultimate challenge for creative, analytical, curious and/or handy enthusiasts, and also a piece of teamwork: disconnect the drainpipe and build a mega water wheel together. How high can we build? How does a wheel work? Can we link multiple boards together? And how do we ensure that it becomes a playful object?
